On March 23, 2022, to celebrate Women’s History Month, Concordia University Texas hosted, the Women’s Leadership Panel Discussion and Luncheon, a lunch-and-learn panel discussion of women who shared their powerful professional and personal stories on March 23, 2022.   This event was a cooperative effort by multiple departments of Concordia University Texas including Vocational & Professional Development, Residential Life, and IncubatorCTX.

Kristin Spindler, faculty member and Director of IncubatorCTX, welcomed the audience by explaining the history and development of Women’s History Month we celebrate every March. After that, she handed it over to Rachel Konakci, Employer Relations Manager from Concordia University’s Vocation & Professional Development, who introduced the five panelists and moderated a meaningful discussion:

Every panelist had the opportunity to introduce herself and share insights into her own professional career and personal journey.

The stories from these five trailblazing panelists were diverse, yet several themes emerged:

  • Believe in Yourself
  • Know Your Dreams and Go For Them
  • When One Door Closes – Find the Next one that Opens
  • Networking is Necessary
  • Look Out for Mentors
  • No Need to Be Perfect
  • Don’t Sell Yourself Short

We hope to make this event a tradition at Concordia.

Happy Women’s History Month!
